Awards for dedicated service

Sunday, January 12, 2014

MEMBERS of the Fiji Corrections Service (FCS) were awarded for their hard work and dedication on Friday evening at their Service Excellence Awards.

A handful of officers, superintendents and other staff members were rewarded for their dedication last year by Commissioner for Prisons Lieutenant Colonel Ifereimi Vasu.

Prior to handing them their awards, Lt-Col Vasu told them their combined efforts made last year a successful one.

He said they should be proud of their work last year because it earned them a Service Excellence Award at the annual PSC awards night in Suva.

He said because of their dedication throughout the year, they were one of only six government departments which were recognised at the PSC awards.

Additionally, he thanked them for ensuring that 2013 was a safe year, saying there were only two prison escapes — again a result of teamwork and improved performance.
