DCA wins title

DCA Sports defeated Blues Sports 6-4 on a penalty shootout in the final of the ATMS-sponsored Nadi Football Association local league super premier competition last Sunday. The final was deferred last November because of Nadi's Pacific Cup commitments and the Kriz Signs National Club Championship. The teams were locked 2-all after extra time.

Competition resumes

THE FBC Suva Volleyball Association weekly competition resumes this weekend after a break for the festive season. The super premier title will be on the line four times while there will be three challenges for the premier title. Marist holds the super premier title while Islanders will defend the premier title at the LICI Multi-Purpose Courts.

Season begins

THE Raiwaqa Volleyball Association will begin its season today with the first round of weekly competition. Seven teams will compete today at Ed's Court in Raiwaqa. Competition official Erami Rasaubale said they would be strict on discipline and fine teams that do not wear proper uniforms and flip-flops will not be allowed during games.

Ali's experience

EVERGREEN snooker player Rocky Ali will bank on his experience to claim the Coastal Rentals Sigatoka Open Championship which starts this afternoon. The 62-year-old grandad goes into the tournament as one of the top seeds. Tournament co-ordinator Suresh Chauhan said they had 32 players for the event at the Sigatoka Club.

League fixtures out

THE Fiji Football Association has released the fixtures for round one of the Fiji Sun/Skipper Tuna National Football League. Suva and Labasa will play the first game at the ANZ Stadium on January 18 after the official opening. Navua hosts Rewa at Thomson Park and Lautoka travels to Lawaqa Park to face Nadroga the next day.
