Plea for assistance

A SEAQAQA woman is pleading for public assistance to help her sick husband get medical treatment in Suva next month.

Monika Mala, of Dagau in Solove, said her husband is scheduled for heart surgery at the CWM Hospital next month but they don't have money to fund the trip.

"My husband has been sick for about eight years and he usually goes to the Labasa Hospital for his medical checks," Mrs Mala said.

"Health officials have informed us that he needs to go for surgery in Suva next month but we really don't have money for our trip.

"Right now, I am the only one providing for my family since my husband can't do ordinary jobs because of his health condition."

Mrs Mala said she depended on a small vegetable garden at the back of their house for income.

"The garden is our only source of income because I sell the vegetables to buy groceries and pay for the children's educational needs.

"I want my husband to undergo this surgery but I don't have the money to pay for our fare and accommodation in Suva.

"I am appealing to the public for help.

"Such assistance will really mean a lot to us because it can bring a change in my husband's health condition."

Those willing to help Ms Mala can contact her on 9429184.
