GOLF

Champion of Champion

THE Srixon Cleveland-sponsored Champion versus Champion series will be played over 54 holes on January 11-12 at Pacific Harbour. Entry open to all golfers with handicap not exceeding 10. Entry fee $120 per player and includes green fees, lunch on Saturday and shared cart. Entry closes on January 9. Contact Amitesh Chandra 9923191.

Juniors

The John Cooper Junior Golf Championship will be played over 36 holes on January 16-17 at the Fiji Golf Club. Entry is open to all junior players in the country. Entry closes on January 13. Contact Nigel Goundan 9121634.

HAPKIDO

YMCA

HAPKIDO classes are being held at the YMCA. Interested individuals above the age of 15 years are welcome to attend. Classes are held every Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30pm to 8pm. Contact Jare Lalakai 8736700.

NETBALL

Burebasaga

THE tournament will be held at Burebasaga District School grounds on January 18. Competition will be for women and mixed teams. Registration for women is $50 and mixed $40. Winners: Women $150, mixed $100. Other consolation prizes as well. First eight women's and four mixed teams to register with full payment will be accepted. Registration closes on January 15. Greenman

THE Greenman landscaping development program will be held on February 19-20 at Vatumali, Navosa. Interested players are invited to attend. Coaching and umpiring clinics will be held on the day. Unaisi Rokoura and Losalini from Netball Fiji will be present. Interested players and coaches are to confirm attendance by calling 9949410 or 6520677. Invitation open to primary, secondary school teams and clubs. The tournament will be also held on the same day.

Navosa

A NETBALL tournament will be held on January 15-16 at Draiba Village grounds at 8am. Registration fee is $80 per team. Winner gets $500, runner-up $200, losing semi-finalists $75 and best player $50. Interested teams in Nadroga/Navosa are welcome to participate. Only first 24 teams will be accepted. Entries close January 10. NOTE: AGM for Navosa Netball will also be held on January 15 from 7pm and all clubs to send two reps to attend the AGM. Contact manager Sifini 8406650, Judy 9949410 or Nene Vilise at Draiba Village. Burebasaga Development 7s

THE Burebasaga Development 7s will be held at Burebasaga District School grounds in Rewa on the January 17-18. Registration fees for seniors is $180 and under-20s $120. Cup winner gets $1300, runner-up $500. Plate winner $250, runner-up $100, Bowl winner $100 and runner-up $80. U20 winner receives $400 and runner-up $100. First 24 teams for seniors and eight teams for U20s with full payment of registration will be accepted. Valid photo ID for under 20s, no birth certificates will be accepted. A 5-a-side and penalty shooting tournament will be held this Sunday and Monday at the Vashist Muni Memorial School grounds and is organised by the Sangam Sports Club and Ram Mandir. Tailevu Naitasiri

THE Tailevu Naitasiri Football Association will host their AGM on January 29 at Vunimono High School at 7pm. Nominations for three vice presidents positions and assistant secretary's position closes seven clear days before the AGM and all motions must reach the acting secretary 14 days prior to the AGM. All affiliated clubs are requested to attend the meeting.

TABLE TENNIS

Suva

TABLE Tennis training clinics for school children and beginners are held at the Garden City hall (on top of Kia Motors) every Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3pm to 5pm. Adults are invited to play table tennis on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from 6pm to 8pm and Sundays from 1pm to 3pm at the same venue. All playing equipment are provided. Interested teams are welcome with fees of $20 for newcomers on Saturday. Registration starts at 1pm. Teams from last week do not have to pay any fees. Open trials for women will be held and all teams are to be on time. All team managers meeting will be held after the games.
