THE Ministry for Women, Social Welfare and Poverty Alleviation will soon be able to create more awareness of social issues affecting rural communities.

The ministry was handed a vehicle worth $70,000 by the UNFPA to reach rural areas in a timely manner.

Speaking at the handover ceremony yesterday minister Dr Jiko Luveni said rural communities faced health issues such as teenage pregnancies.

UNFPA representative Dr Laurent Zessler said he was impressed with the work of the ministry in creating awareness for Fiji's women.
