Discount on rates

Thursday, January 09, 2014

THE Nadi Town Council expects a positive response from ratepayers following the 10 per cent discount approved on town rates.

Nadi special administrator Robin Ali said ratepayments last year were below the council's target.

"Only 87 per cent of our ratepayers paid their town rates," said Mr Ali.

"So with these overdue payments, a discount of 10 per cent has been implemented to encourage these people to pay their rates.

"In the past, the discount used to be only 7 per cent but this year it's 10 per cent, so people will find that as something good for them."
