14 homeless after morning blaze

Update: 10:12AM FOURTEEN people are homeless after their house was burnt to the ground this morning.

The family of Mohammed Safiq in Seaqaqa lost everything in the fire that destroyed their home at about 3.30am.

Mr Safiq said his daughter-in-law woke up and saw flames in the back of the house.

Jasmine Nisha said she woke her husband up after seeing the flames and they alerted family members.  Among them was 95-year-old Rasul Mohammed who walked out of his room after hearing movement in the house.
