BUSINESS in the Sugar City was disrupted following a power outage that affected the entire nation early yesterday.

University of the South Pacific students, who had signed up for summer classes at the Lautoka campus, were forced to wait for power to be restored.

Local businesses and households from all over Lautoka experienced the power cuts from 3am yesterday.

The Fiji Electricity Authority managed to restore power to the major areas by 9am yesterday.

According to FEA, the generator at Kinoya had tripped and caused the power disruptions.
