Event draws big guns

TOP local sevens clubs have registered to feature at the Uluinakau 7s tournament in Nausori this week.

Yamacia and Wardens remain favourites to clinch the title.

Coral Coast 7s champions Yamacia will field two teams while Wardens has three (Gold, Green and West).

Other top guns include Red Rock Nasolo Young Boys, Natakala, Dritabua, Tokatoka Resort Westfield Barbarians, and Waimanu.

Tournament chief organiser Eliki Kaisuva has urged all clubs to clear registration fees.

"This tournament marks the beginning of another season and it will be played at the newly-upgraded Ratu Cakobau Park. Most of the top clubs are coming and we're hoping for a good outing."

Kaisuva said 10 Indo-Fijian teams and eight women's teams have been invited to participate.

The cup winner walks away with $5000 and the runner-up pockets $2000.
