MUNICH, Germany - Borussia Dortmund striker Robert Lewandowski will, as expected, move to rivals Bayern Munich in the summer after signing a five-year deal, the Bundesliga champions confirmed on Saturday.

Lewandowski's contract with Dortmund runs out at the end of season and the 25-year-old has been free to sign a pre-contract deal since January 1.

The deal, which runs from July 1, 2014, was agreed after Lewandowski successfully underwent medical checks on Saturday with club doctor Hans-Wilhelm Mueller-Wohlfahrt in Munich.

"We are very happy that we have succeeded with this transfer," said Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge.
