120 cases of violence against women

Update: 12:46PM ONE hundred and twenty cases of violence against women were recorded in the past eight days.

These were the disturbing statistics revealed by the Fiji Womens Crisis Centre today.

The FWCC said the cases were recorded at their Suva, Nadi, Rakiraki and Labasa branches.

In Suva alone, there were a total of 56 clients who either came in for counseling, were counseled over the phone or called in for enquiries, the FWCC said

Of these 56, 36 were domestic violence cases, one was for sexual harassment while 19 were for other issues.
