FIJI 7s coach Ben Ryan is keen to introduce the abbreviated code at the school level.
Sevens rugby is only played at the secondary school level but the Englishman is willing to go beyond to ensure proper development of the sport in future.
Ryan said with Fiji 7s participating in the 2014 Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China, introduction of 7s rugby at the school level was a necessity.
"I'd love to look into what's happening in 7s at school level," Ryan told Times Sport.
"We have the Youth Olympics this summer and hopefully the Youth Commonwealth's in Samoa a year later so it's important to make sure everything is linked."
Ryan, who arrived into the country early yesterday, has shifted his focus on preparing the national side for the third leg of the 2013/14 HSBC Sevens World Series in Las Vegas and Wellington next month.
He is also looking forward to celebrating the new year in the country.
Ryan wants "simple things done well" next year.
"I'm not one for new year's resolutions — for me it's to work as smart as I can to do a good job with Fiji 7s and have a happy and healthy life.
"Been recovering from long term back injury so hoping I can be a lot more active this year too!"
