FIJI'S provincial rugby champions Nadroga has started its pre-season training program ahead of another hectic season.

The Stallions will defend both provincial silverware — the Digicel Cup and the coveted Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy — next season.

Nadroga beat Suva 21-12 during the Digicel Cup final at Lawaqa Park in Sigatoka and wrested the prestigious Farebrother-Sullivan Trophy away from Tailevu 27-22 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva in the last challenge.

Nadroga rugby coach Esala Nauga said they had reaped the rewards of having pre-season training during the past five years.

"We have seen the good of having our off-season training," he said.

"This is an on going program for Nadroga and it helps players prepare for a hectic season.

"It is very important for us to have all players at our off-season training.

"If they miss out, they'll be loaded with training when they join during the season.

"They will have to follow another training program which will be very difficult for them."

The Nadroga Rugby Union has called on its players to attend the team's briefing next month in Sigatoka.

Nadroga has retained the core of its players who featured in its campaign this season.

The key players are captain Setefano Samoca, Apisai Domolailai, Iliesa Ratuva, Savenaca Rawaca, Sailosi Rabonaqica, Asaeli Boko, Etonia Naba, Ratu Mosese Volavola, Jiuta Lutumailagi, Samisoni Viriviri and Nadroga's 2013 Player of the Year Manoa Tamaya.
