THE Suva Volleyball Association will resume its weekly club competition on January 11.

Association secretary Viliame Katia is impressed with the competition so far and hopes it will improve after the break.

The competition has gone into a three-week break to allow association members to enjoy the festive season.

Katia hopes there's a good turnout when the competition resumes next Saturday.

"I'm very happy with the teams this season. We have many new players in the clubs and there are also some new clubs taking part this year," he said.

"The turnout at the weekly competition has been good and we hope to maintain this."

Katia has called on commitment from the players as Suva aims to regain its dominance in the domestic competition.

"My message to the players and teams this festive season is to enjoy the season but keep fit as our club games start on January 11.

"We need the players to come and attend the club competition as we don't have much time for the Vulaca and Vanua challenges.

"We need commitment from the players who are part of this weekly club competition."
