A MAN who slapped another for his mischievous behaviour will know his fate in a fortnight after pleading guilty to assault.
Maciu Koroi, 25, pleaded guilty in the Suva Magistrates Court to a charge of assault.
The summary of facts read out in court stated Koroi slapped the complainant on Marks St in Suva in October.
In mitigation, Koroi's Legal Aid Commission counsel Lusiate Qetaki said the accused had reacted instinctively.
Mr Qetaki said Koroi reacted after the accused indecently assaulted his sister.
He added Koroi became angry and went after the complainant, swore at him then slapped him.
According to Mr Qetaki, Koroi was remorseful for his action as the charge had led to his employer standing him down from work.
He said Koroi was married and had a year old child.
Magistrate Sufia Hamza asked the defence if Koroi had sought reconciliation with the complainant.
The court was told Koroi and the complainant had met and reconciled, but the accused had been unsuccessful in getting the other party to court.
Koroi will be sentenced on January 14.
