IN the past few years, Vani Koroi didn't really get to spend Christmas well with her family because she was always worried about her children's welfare.
This year, however, is different for the mother of three from Qauia in Lami as a heavy load has been lifted from her shoulders — she won't have to pay her children's fees.
"I did my back to school shopping before Christmas because I was really happy that I didn't have to pay for my children's school fees," Mrs Koroi said.
"Today I'm just wrapping up my shopping before the new year.
"I have three children who all attend primary school and now I'm happy that I will have to take care of just their books."
The Suva Book Shop was full with parents beginning their back to school shopping.
A staff member said they recorded good sales in recent weeks.
