TRANSPORTATION problems will soon be over for the villagers of Naboutini in Saqani, Cakaudrove, now that they've bought a three-tonne truck.

The villagers recently organised Nautosolo Day to raise funds for the truck.

Nautosolo youth group mentor Pastor Mosese Vono said the event was aimed at raising funds for the truck and farming projects for youths.

"Before, the villagers, including school children, walked to and from the village," he said.

"The bus usually comes to the village twice a day. It comes early in the morning and late in the afternoon.

"If we miss it, we have to look for our own transport. We decided to organise the event as a way of raising funds for the truck."

Mr Vono said youths from as far as Galoa Island in Bua attended the event with a contribution of $5000.

"It's about time that we have our own transport since the new school year is just around the corner.

"This is also an opportunity for us to mingle and socialise with each other for the purpose of strengthening our relationship ties.

"One of the country's renowned iTaukei bands, Nautosolo, led by Taniela Mavi, entertained the people present at the event."
