THE government has allocated $500,000 for the construction of the proposed Kubulau government station in Bua Province.

Acting Commissioner Northern Alipate Bolalevu revealed this at the heads of department meeting in Labasa yesterday.

"The funding assistance will result in the construction of a government station that includes the office of the assistant district officer and his or her government quarters, agriculture and fisheries department office and a conference room," he said.

"The funds will be directed to the military engineers who will be carrying out the construction works as they are also part of government.

"We won't be advertising for tenders because we will be seeking the help of the military engineers."

At the same time, Mr Bolalevu said the government had allocated $572,000 for the completion of the Korosi and Balaga Bay road construction in Savusavu.

"The construction work on this road will continue next year with an extra funding of $572,000.

"The road will be linked to the Navakaka Road that is also in the area."
