Businessman in custody

Update: 2:45PM A CHINESE businessman from Solomon Islands is in police custody for allegedly failing to declare foreign currencies amounting to $32,400 at the Nadi International Airport last Friday.

Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the man was in custody as investigations continued.

In the second case also recorded on the same day, a 25-year-old Chinese businesswoman from the Solomon Islands was arrested for allegedly failing to declare foreign currencies worth more than $44,000 upon arrival.

Ms Naisoro said the suspect was also in police custody as investigations continued.
