LOMAIVITI Barbarians 7s team is hoping for a better season next year following a consistent performance this year.
The club which was formed by former Fiji 7s star Marika Vunibaka has become one of the top clubs in the country.
It has produced some national reps most notably Benito Eremasi who has been a regular in the Fijian side.
Team coach Sekaia Ragata said they had big plans for the upcoming season.
And in the bid to achieve them, the players have cut short their festive season and resumed preparations for the upcoming tournaments.
Lomaiviti Barbarians will start its 2014 campaign with the Uluinakau 7s which will be held in two weeks time at the Ratu Cakobau Park in Nausori.
"We have a few secondary school players who played for the Fiji under-18 team this year," Ragata said.
"There are also players like Marika Vunibaka Jr and Michael Nabuliwaqa who have calibre to make the national team."
Ragata said through the development of their players they were also aiming to help the national team.
"We are building this team and hoping to produce more young players who have the ability to do well not only at the club level but also at the national level. We had quite a consistent year in terms of performance and we hope to continue building on that.
"We are encouraging players to put God first and through Him realise the potential that they have."
