POLICE are awaiting the post-mortem examination of the 45-year-old man who died after he was crushed by logs in Buca Bay.
Police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro said the man was driving a truck laden with logs which got stuck in a muddy spot around 2.30pm on Friday.
Ms Naisoro said the man got off the truck to see what had happened when the chains holding the logs snapped, crushing him.
"The body of the victim is currently lying at Savusavu Hospital awaiting the post-mortem (examination) to determine the exact cause of death," she said.
"The man is survived by his wife and three children."
