AARON Powell is making the most of this festive season.
Not indulging in the delicious cuisine it offers but sweating it out at the local gym in preparation for the upcoming season.
The Coca-Cola Games intermediate boy's 100 and 200 metres champion has set his sight for better times next year.
Times Sport caught up with the Gospel High School student at the National Fitness Centre in Laucala yesterday where he was doing weights as part of his training regime.
Powell said he also practised on the tracks on Tuesdays and Thursdays and has been a regular in the Athletics Fiji weekly competitions
"This is just to keep me in shape for next season," he added.
Powell was Fiji's best performer at the International Amateur Athletics Federation (IAAF) Youth Championship in Ukraine this year where he progressed to the semi-finals with a personal best time of 21.87s in the 200m.
