A THREE-DAY workshop on public policy analysis came to a close last week with more than 25 senior civil servants walking away with information which would work to improve their leadership skills.
The training session was facilitated jointly by the Public Service Commission (PSC) and the Pacific Islands Centre for Public Administration (PICPA).
"The main message for the participants is for them to take policy analysis seriously," said PICPA adviser Dr Desmond Amosa in a Ministry of Information statement.
"They have the confidence of the public to do a good job and to make sure they conduct proper analysis, especially for the people that are affected by the policy to be involved as part of the analysis.
"When you talk of analysis, you need information and sometimes it is hard to find information."
Dr Amosa said the organisation hoped to host another workshop.
"It is good to have knowledge of conducting analysis but writing it down is another issue.
"We need to have the skills to be able to do that."
