THE Lautoka Cricket Association plans to hold four major competitions next year.

The new committee for the 2014 season was elected last week with Nilesh Kapadia as president.

Lautoka Cricket Association events manager Rukesh Patel said they would be targeting the development of junior cricket.

Patel said an under-19 competition would be held.

"We will take things seriously in the new season," he said.

"The aim is to get more people to take up the sport. This will only happen if there are regular competitions. We have decided to start the season with the Super Sixers.

"After that we will hold the club league which will be followed by our Twenty20 Bash series. We will run an under-19 competition which will involve secondary school students."

Lautoka Cricket Association created history last year by staging the Super Sixes competition for the first time in the country.

Moce West 1, Moce West 2, Unifiji Cricket Club, Kings XI West and Nakavu Cricket Club have confirmed participation in the Super Sixers.
