Christmas carols

IT is something that members of a church do every year, especially when it's Christmas time.

But this year, they decided to put their normal practice aside and focus on the community they live in.

With the view to spread the message of Christmas, members of the Keresimani Methodist Church at Cunningham in Suva sang carols for their community members on Sunday night.

Bale Tuifagalele, a church member, said the church members sang Christmas carols in hospitals every year.

"This year, the church decided to sing the carols in their community and they set up a tent on a playground near a shop in Cunningham," she said.

"It's something the church members have been doing for years but this year, we decided to have the carol singing in our own community."

She said hymns sung by the church members brought the Christmas spirit alive in the Cunningham area and they aimed for it to be the same at Holiday Inn.

Ms Tuifagalele said like every year, the church group was at the Holiday Inn at midday on Christmas day to sing Christmas carols.
