IT will be a techno-Christmas for the children of special homes around the country.

The children of Labasa Special School, Dilkusha Home, Mahaffay Girls Home, and Loloma Home were given gifts of mobile phones and tablets.

Foundation executive Ambalika Deo said they would continue to support special schools and homes.

"Vodafone Fiji Foundation annually provides for the disadvantaged and the unfortunate children with Christmas and new year presents," she said.

"We decided to be different this year by driving social change through donating technology for children and parents born in this technological era.

"With the main motive of engaging everyone to mobilise communities and mobilise social change.

"The foundation continues to provide support to various homes and orphanages and is in the process of bringing up a society where everyone is given a change to live and enjoy the era they are born in."

Ms Devi said in order to establish a technology-based society, the foundation started giving technological items such as tablets, Wifi devices and internet connection free for a year to schools, communities and homes.
