THE 2013 Qalulu family reunion was one that will go down in the family history books.
The occasion was more than a reunion because they took time out to visit children at the Dilkusha Children's Home in Nausori yesterday.
The family originally from Nalawa, Saivou in Ra, had planned for the reunion earlier this year and part of the plan was to stage a visit to the home and to witness how these children were raised in such care.
Since the beginning of the year, family members put together gift items and accessories they thought was worth giving to the children. Family member Lagi Qalulu said family members came from New Zealand, Singapore and Australia and they had collected items, books and Christmas gifts which they gave to the children.
"This is a great moment for all of us because we had been given the privilege to visit our young brothers and sisters," Qalulu said.
"Our children were touched when they saw these children especially living together under one roof.
"I guess that when we get together for our week-long reunion which begins this weekend, we are relieved that we were able to share its joy with children of the Dilkusha Home."
