ABOUT $100,000 has been set aside by government for water borehole projects in Seaqaqa, Macuata.

Acting commissioner Northern Alipate Bolalevu said a team of officials from the office of the district officer Seaqaqa visited the villages on Monday to inform them of the proposed projects.

"Some of the villages include Saivou, Raviravi and Dreketi.

"These are some of the villages identified to be part of the project," he said.

"This is part of our rural development plan aimed at improving the livelihoods of people affected.

"The project will help villagers with their water supply, sanitation and health."

Meanwhile, Mr Bolalevu said they also stepped in to assist residents of Lagi Rd in Tabia with a $60,000 water borehole project.

The residents have been drinking from wells infested with bacteria.
