THE Suvavou Volleyball Association will celebrate its 20th anniversary tomorrow in Lami with a tournament.

Organising committee member Mosese Tuilau said they would also recognise two influential people during the celebrations.

"We will have a march from Lami Town to the park beside RB Patel Harbourpoint where we will have the tournament and festivities," he said.

"The men's tournament will have a trophy dedicated to Serevi Vananalagi, a former national volleyball rep."

Power spiker Vananalagi died earlier this year in a car accident.

"The women's competition will be for the Erelai Trophy which is named after one of the biggest supporters of women's volleyball, Erelai Rogo.

"Apart from the competitions, the day will be full of festivities, fun and laughter and we would like to encourage the Lami community to participate in this.

"Also we would like to encourage volleyball lovers from Suva to come and witness the competition." The association also plans to host its New Year's tournament on January 1.

"Toba is the defending champion of that title and we would like to see if a new champion will be crowned or if Toba will retain their title.

"The tournament will be a good way to farewell 2013 and welcome 2014."
