FIJI'S top archers Robert Elder and Kavitesh Sharma will represent Fiji at the New Zealand National Championship in Auckland next month.
The duo qualified for the event after impressing at the Fiji National Championship in October.
Elder has been shooting consistently above 1000 in the men's recurve Olympic 70 metres round while Sharma is not far off.
Fiji Archery Association general secretary Ajay Ballu said they wished the duo a successful outing.
"Robert Elder and Kavitesh Sharma have qualified to play at the New Zealand Nationals and we wish them all the best," he said. "This is our first outing for the New Year and we will want to gauge our performance against the top archers in New Zealand." Ballu said
"Robert is our elite athlete and we expect him to achieve a personal best.
"He has been shooting well and very consistently. This is a chance for him to test himself against the best in New Zealand. For Kavitesh, it will be good exposure for him."
The association thanked the Fiji Sports Commission and the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee for assisting Elder and Sharma's funding.
The duo will leave the country on January 2.
