THE Suva Cricket Association may have to play its competition somewhere else from next year.
The Suva City Council's plans to upgrade the association's usual venue, Albert Park, starting from next month.
Association vice president Alex Konrote is awaiting confirmation from the council before deciding on the a new venue.
"The SCA is still waiting to hear from the SCC on the exact date of the ground upgrade although we hear it will be in January," he said.
"SCA will be looking at other options such as Suva Grammar School or FNU (Nasinu campus) to complete the season, which runs until Easter 2014."
The competition will be on a break for the festive season and will resume on January 4.
"The remainder of the round 1 premier grade games are yet to be played including the last A grade game between Covenant Brothers and Nasaqalau.
"In the premier grade Army looks to retain their top spot. However, the second spot is still up for grabs and the Premier teams are also trying to play themselves out of the bottom two positions to avoid the relegation play-offs against the top two teams in the A grade."
Komo currently leads the A grade competition and looks certain to qualify for the Premier grade if they continue their winning streak in the promotion/relegation matches.
