Ra youths

YOUTHS from Balekinaga Village in Ra have been urged to make use of the assistance provided by government after receiving a chainsaw and grass cutter last week. This followed the completion of the Seeds of Success for the youths. The chainsaw would be useful in clearing land for new farms.

Cove reopens

Musket Cove Island Resort and Marina has reopened for business after a month of renovations. The renovations were completed last week, just in time for the busy Christmas period. Some of the renovations include the upgrade of all garden bure, repainting of buildings and the addition of brand new bathrooms.

New chairman

THE iTaukei Affairs Board will appoint new provincial council chairmen for Ba, Nadroga/Navosa. This follows the deaths of Ba chairman Ratu Jale Waisale Kuwe Ratu, and Nadroga chairman Ratu Sakiusa Makutu early this month. The board has identified a new chairman for Nadroga/Navosa and would announce the appointment shortly.

DPC back

Divisional police commander West Salacieli Naivilawasa has been reinstated as head of the force in the West, replacing Jone Ralulu. DPC Naivilawasa recently returned from a one-year peace keeping mission in Liberia and resumed duties two weeks ago. APC Ralulu will assist DPC Naivilawasa.
