TWO key Ba players have signed a contract with the Yoogali Football Club in New South Wales, Australia.
Goalkeeper Ratu Jone Gasaubalavu and midfielder Malakai Tiwa departed for Sydney yesterday for a two-year stint with the club.
The Yoogali team is coached by former national captain and Nadroga rep Abraham Watkins.
The side, which is based in Griffith, features Abraham's sons Archie Jr and Sitiveni.
Ba team manager Arvin Singh said the departure of the duo had created a big gap in their squad. Singh said they were proud that their players had secured overseas contracts.
"We will certainly miss them," he said.
"But we cannot hold them back because they are looking at their future. Hopefully they will be able to learn more and move up the ranks.
"Jone had improved a lot recently and went on the make the Fiji squad. I regard Tiwa as one of the best midfielders Ba has had. Ba Football Association wishes them all the best with their new club."
Singh's son Alvin, a former Ba rep, also plays in New South Wales.
Alvin is with Mounties Wanderers team.
