TOP sevens clubs are in for a treat at the Salato 7s tournament at the Suva Grammar School grounds today.
Last year's runner-up Lomaiviti, Wardens Gold, Red Rock, Tabadamu, Natalaira champion Wainuqa Reds and Babees Senivaivai, winner of the New Vision tournament in Wainibuka last week have all confirmed registration.
With a prizemoney of $2000 up for grabs, the organisers feel the one-day tournament will be a clash of domestic champions.
Eventually, a new winner will be crowned because defending champions Bure Ambassadors have not fielded a team in an attempt to defend its title.
That leaves Lomaiviti as the top bet. However, the competition from other teams will be one to cherish.
Tournament organiser Wame Ratadai said it would be a mouth-watering clash to witness top clubs line up against each other.
"This is going to be an exciting match-up," he said.
"All top clubs, including Lomaiviti, last year's runner-up, are in for a treat. This is a worthy tournament to watch."
Ratadai urged the public to witness sevens at its best in Veiuto.
"This is our last tournament we are organising this season and we're pleading with the public to come down on Saturday and watch sevens at its best.
"All top clubs will be playing. Most clubs have won top tournaments, so this is a chance for all teams to redeem themselves, which is the best side," Ratadai said.
The entry fee is $3 for adults and $1 for children under-12. The tournament starts at 8am.
