FIJI under-20 coach Ravinesh Kumar will work on techniques when the team returns to camp next month.
The national U20 team ended its second week-long training camp in Ba yesterday with the participation of 36 players.
Kumar said the training squad would be reduced to 30 players.
"We are in the screening process right now," he said.
"The squad will be reduced to 30 players who will march back into camp in Ba on January 5. The players will be there until January 17.
"During that camp the technical aspects of the players will be assessed.
"We will work on ball control basics like passing and first touches."
Kumar said it was crucial to select quality players capable of performing on the international scene.
He said the Fiji Football Association board of control would decide soon whether the team would be based in camp on a full-time basis.
The national U20 is billed to participate in the National Football League next season. A tour to United States has also been planned.
The Oceania U20 playoffs will be held in New Zealand next May.
The winner of the competition will gain direct entry to the 2015 FIFA U20 World Cup also hosted by New Zealand.
