LAUTOKA Central Primary School student Mulan Kamoe will travel with the Pacific Oceania team to Australia at the end of this month to participate in a series of junior tennis tournaments.

The 14-year-old is part of the International Tennis Federation regional scholarship program.

Fiji Tennis Association executive and national coach Naga Reddy said this would be Kamoe's second trip to Australia.

"Mulan was part of the Pacific Oceania team that participated in junior tournaments in Melbourne less than two weeks ago," he said.

"On this trip the players will not only participate in tournaments but will also get a chance to witness the Australian Open Championship. The Pacific Oceania team is made up of players from Kiribati, Fiji, the Solomon Islands and Guam."

Reddy said Mulan was one of their upcoming stars.

"We are grateful to the International Tennis Federation and Oceania Tennis Federation for funding the overseas trips for our players," he said.

"They need overseas exposure to enhance their skills."

Meanwhile, the Easter Championship is the first major tournament on the Fiji Tennis Association 2014 season calendar.
