NEIGHBOURS Nadi and Lautoka played to a 1-all draw in the first leg of the Late Jimmy Ram Pratap trophy clash at Prince Charles Park on Wednesday.
Shop N Save Nadi scored first through William Valentine in the first spell.
Defender Ilaitia Tuilau equalised for the Design Engineering-sponsored Lautoka team in the second half.
Lautoka Football Association president Shalendra Prasad said the heavy rain made things difficult for both teams.
"The ground was waterlogged in some areas," Prasad said.
"This prevented the players from showcasing their talents. However the second match will be a cracker on Sunday. We are requesting the fans to come out in numbers to support their teams."
Alifereti Baleloa, Alvin Avinesh and Seremaia Nadusitu marked their return for the Blues in the fixture.
Avinesh, who captained the Sugar City side, was suspended by the Fiji Football Association for participating in a tournament in New Zealand in September without approval from the parent body.
His suspension has been lifted after paying a fine.
Nadi Football Association president Navneeda Gounder said they rested some key players in the match.
"We tried a few new players in the starting line like Levi Tawake and Rahul Krishna," Gounder said.
"Ame Votuniu, Eliki Ravosai, Ben Aminio Matainaqara and Lekima Gonerau who are injured were rested. We are hopeful that these players will be fit for the return match."
The two teams clash at Churchill Park at 3pm on Sunday.
