CIVIL servants will receive their pay rise during their first pay next month.
The increment was announced by Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama during the 2014 National Budget address.
Public Service Commission permanent secretary Parmesh Chand said this was part of efforts to improve the quality of government services
He said the pay rise would not be backdated but would be effective on January 1.
"The provision of the increase in salaries and wages will apply to all the government employees, including officers in the Fiji Military Forces, Fiji Police Force, Prison Services and Forest Guard personnel," Mr Chand said.
Government wage earners and special constabularies are also included and will be awarded a 10 per cent increase.
"This pay increase does not affect all allowances for the three disciplined forces that are pegged to basic salary."
The increase will be applicable to permanent officers, including those serving their probation periods, officers serving on local contract terms, temporary officers including temporary relievers, government wage earners and project officers.
