PEARCE Home in Suva was filled with excitement yesterday as the Fiji Police Force brass band entertained the residents.
The 30-minute event was also an opportunity for the residents to mingle with band members and learn more about their work.
Central Division commanding officer SP Tevita Waqabaca said the activities over the past week were aimed at reaching out to the less fortunate, the sick and neglected of society.
"We have been doing this for the past week and this is an opportunity to display our talent and skills to these people during this festive season," he said.
"Apart from just ensuring law and order is maintained in the country, we also provide our services to the sick and unfortunate ones.
"We have been visiting special places such as the Old People's Home in Samabula and the CWM Hospital for the purpose of bringing a glimpse of hope to the residents."
