THE MV Suilven has been grounded until the Maritime Safety Authority of Fiji gives the green light for the vessel to continue sailing.
MSAF yesterday issued a statement saying the vessel was not to sail out until "a special survey is undertaken to determine the seaworthiness of the vessel".
The vessel is believed to have encountered problems on Saturday morning while on a journey from Savusavu to Suva.
In an emailed statement yesterday, the authority confirmed the preliminary investigation would begin tomorrow.
It stated that it had also received a statement from the master in relation to the incident.
Vessel owner Ben Naidu confirmed they had been informed of this announcement by MSAF.
