A FIRST-hand demonstration of the inherent risk businesses face during disasters was showcased through a practical risk reduction technique for business houses in the West.
This was made possible through a joint partnership of Digicel Fiji and the United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction.
A breakfast seminar was held at Tanoa International Hotel yesterday with about 30 business houses in attendance.
Digicel Fiji public relations and sponsorship manager Satish Narain said it was an opportunity for West-based businesspeople to learn the risks associated with disaster situations.
"This will be good, especially when the West recently was affected by floods and the cyclone," he said.
The main objective of the seminar was to allow the business community to learn how they could protect their data and digital information in the event of a disaster.
