DEFENDING champions 4R Electrical breezed into the final of the Kriz Signs National Football Championship after beating Suva's Civic 3-0 in the semi-final at Prince Charles Park in Nadi yesterday.

The Ba club had too much class for the Southerners which failed to function in the hot conditions.

Marika Madigi scored the opener for 4R Electrical in the 18th minute.

Malakai Tiwa doubled their account in the 47th minute. Goalkeeper cum striker Jone Ralulu sealed 4R Electrical's win in the dying stages.

Civic coach Shalendra Prasad said fitness was their major drawback.

Prasad said 4R Electrical had too much depth in its squad.

He said they lacked finishing.

"We had our chances but did not score," Prasad said.

"Our game plan did not work. The heat took its toll on the players.

This is where fitness counts. We missed Jale Dreloa who was suspended after receiving a red card. There is need for big room improvement next year.

"We will be looking at revamping the squad so that we have quality players on the bench to come on as replacements.

"The National Club Championship is just like the Inter District Championship for the clubs."
