THE body of a 54-year-old farmer who was missing from his home was found floating in a river at the weekend.
The man, of Nakawaga Village in Cakaudrove, had been missing from his home since Saturday morning.
"The deceased left his home at 8am to bathe in a river next to the village and was last seen at 9am by his niece," said police spokeswoman Ana Naisoro.
"However, it was later discovered that the deceased was missing during lunch and dinner.
His body was found on Saturday night.
"A search party was organised by villagers and the deceased's body was found in the same river later that night at around 8.30pm." The body of the deceased is at the Savusavu Hospital mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
Ms Naisoro said police were carrying out investigations into the man's death.
