TOKATOKA Westfield Barbarians are the top seeds in the Gaunvou 7s tournament which will be played today at the Market grounds in Ba.
Twenty-four teams will compete in the inaugural tournament and organiser Timoci Driu said the Nadi-based club could walk away with the $1000 prizemoney.
"The other top team in the tournament is the Western Wardens and they could pose a big threat to the Barbarians.
"With Pio Tuwai, Samu Saqiwa and Waisea Nacugu back from the Fiji 7s team, the Barbarians are at full strength.
"Although it is not confirmed yet whether the three will play or not but they are the top bets in the tournament."
Driu said teams from as far as Sigatoka and Tavua had registered for the tournament.
"We are organising this tournament to raise funds to buy a new set of jerseys for our club.
"We are urging the people of Ba to come and support the tournament.
"We have no sponsors and we are just going by faith and we would like to organise more tournaments.
"We want to organise a bigger tournament at Govind Park and we are hopeful for success."
