THE Works Department in the North expects to make a profit of about $30,000 from their quarterly home furniture market day this year.
The department's joinery foreman Ramendra Pillay said their sales achievement this year was a success.
Mr Pillay said they made a profit of about $15,000 last year.
"This is the only chance for members of the public to come and view our locally produced products and buy them at low prices," Mr Pillay said.
"Yesterday (Wednesday) we hosted around 900 visitors at the Labasa old courthouse where the market day was taking place.
"Today (yesterday) alone we had a total of 200 visitors."
Mr Pillay said they expected more sales as the event drew to a close yesterday.
"We have labelled this year as successful and we promise the public in Labasa that our marketing event will be bigger and better next year."
