EXCELLENT service provided to customers arriving in and departing the country earned five hardworking frontline staff members at Nadi International Airport the Fijian Hosts of the Month award on Wednesday.
The recipients were Viliame Waqaninavatu of Border Police, Joji Veiqaravi of Airports Fiji Limited alongside Mary Ting, Deepak Kumar and Angela Komai of the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority.
Permanent secretary for Tourism Ministry Elizabeth Powell presented the awards in Nadi and congratulated the winners for their valued contributions. She also acknowledged the support of tourism industry partners who were represented on the Fijian Hosts Council and provided monthly prizes.
Fiji Airways CEO Stefan Pichler congratulated the winners and expressed his appreciation for the commitment to providing the best service to travellers.
Each winner was given a Fijian Host of the Month award signed by Attorney-General and Minister for Tourism Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyam, along with a $250 grocery shopping voucher and vouchers provided by Jack's of Fiji.
The Fijian hosts training and awards program was introduced by the tourism industry in 2012 and has since trained about 350 airport frontline team members.
The awards were for the months of June to October this year.
