NORTHPole FC is hoping for a golden debut in the Kriz Signs National Club Championship.

The Suva club, which was formed about five years ago, will represent the district alongside Civic in the 2013 club championship this weekend at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

The Canform/Pramod Enterprise-sponsored side is pooled with defending champions 4R Electrical (Ba), League FC (Navua) and FC Education (Lautoka) in Pool Two.

Pool One has United (Rewa), Civic (Suva), Blues (Nadi) and Combine (Navua).

North Pole team president Shane Hussein said the side would have to step up in its performance in order to make the semi-finals on Sunday.

With Suva players Jonas Naceva, Ravinesh Karan Singh, Nathan Shivam and Mira Sahib, Hussein hopes for the best this weekend.

"We had quite a good season and we want to build on that in the club championship.

"We can't rely on the results of the preliminary rounds where we played premier clubs and managed good scores," he said.

"In the club championship, we have clubs from the super premier districts and they will be a tough challenge for us."
