FIJI Football Association national coaching director Juan Carlos Buzzetti is impressed with the performance of the local teams in the Ultimate Fiji Soccer Cup.
Buzzetti said the teams had done well especially in the boys under-17 division.
He said the inclusion of the national U17 reps was a boost.
"Our teams have competed better compared to the previous years," Buzzetti said.
"In the past years our teams found it very difficult to contain the overseas teams.
"It is good to see the national U17 team boys boost the two Western selections. They have given the team the added experience.
"I witnessed the secondary schools Inter District Competition and we selected some players for the national U20 training squad."
Buzzetti said the squad would march into camp on Sunday and we wanted to give some of the younger players a chance to gain that experience.
"But they will have to cope with the pressure," he said.
"I'm very happy with the commitment of the players.
"When we invited them, they did not hesitate to put their hands up.
"The selection to the various age group national teams is the incentive.
"Slowly we are getting our age-group teams into shape."
The Ultimate Fiji Cup will continue at the National Football Academy ground in Ba and the Denarau Island ground today.
