VETERAN Kanda Samy Mudaliar has set his sights on regaining the Lautoka Bowling Club singles championship title this weekend.

The 72-year-old goes into the event on a high note having won the handicap tournament at the same venue on Sunday.

Mudaliar defeated Dev Anand, Permal Satya and David Bennion in the round-robin competition to finish on top.

The singles title is held by Permal.

Mudaliar who won it back to back in 2010 and 2011 said the aim was to end the 2013 season on a high note. "This year I was part of the team that won the club triples and fours titles," Mudaliar said.

"Permal the defending champion will be the player to beat. I hope to carry my rhythm from the handicap tournament into the singles event."

The Lautoka Bowling Club singles tournament will start on Saturday morning.
