THE Hibiscus Events Group Inc. chairman, Hirdesh Prasad, says he is proud of Priscilla Reddy's performance at the recent Miss South Pacific Pageant despite missing out the event's top spots.

Miss Reddy represented Fiji to the pageant which Miss Cook Islands, Teuira Rachel Napa eventually won.

"Despite not placing this year, she had represented her country proudly and did her best," Mr Prasad said.

"Which is all we can ask of any person acting as an ambassador of our country overseas,"

Miss Reddy also did not place in any of the five special awards — Miss Personality, Internet, National Tourism, Photogenic and Best Float.

"The team is very happy with Priscilla's performance there."

Miss Cook Islands walked away with the best float award and won the sarong as well as the traditional wear category.

Miss Tonga was crowned first runner-up while Miss Samoa and Miss Solomon Islands were crowned second and third runners-up respectively. Miss Fiji is expected back in the country today.
